The ozone generated by ROSS eliminates germs and odor causing bacteria that soap and water alone cannot, leaving prosthetic liners smelling fresh, sanitized, and ready to wear in as little as 10 minutes. Independent laboratory tested, the device rapidly eliminates 99.9% S. aureus bacteria, the leading cause of skin and soft tissue infections such as abscesses, furuncles, and cellulitis.

The ROSS liner sanitizer can accommodate any type, size, and brand of sleeve with ease. Our dry ozone cleaning process may cause a bit of discoloration over time, which is completely normal after repetitive use. However, ROSS has no negative impact on the materials used for your liner and doesn’t affect its lifespan.

One of our customers’ most common questions is whether ROSS can be used to clean other prosthetic components such as prosthetic sockets and orthotic brace liners. While it’s compatible with any type of liner, our system has only been laboratory tested and approved for use with prosthetic liners, and pins can remain in them during the quick cleaning process.

If you plan to travel or suffer from excessive sweating when wearing your device, taking your prosthetic liner care system with you is possible. Although the ROSS is a bit large, it is lightweight, making it portable in most circumstances.

The good news is that we are currently working on designing a travel-friendly prosthetic cleaner that makes it more portable. In addition to creating a convenient case, our team is considering a collapsible unit that will make it a more compact, portable prosthetic liner cleaner.

We make prosthetic liner care simple, so ROSS is easy to prepare for use as well as operate and maintain. To prepare the unit, just remove the interior steeple, then spray and wipe the inside of the device with a gentle (preferably all-natural) window cleaning spray. You can clean your ROSS as much as you like, but we recommend doing so at least every few weeks.

Sanitizing your suspension sleeves and liners involves basic steps with this mess-free prosthetic cleaner. First, wipe down the inside of your liner with your complimentary lint-free cloth (that’s slightly damp and clean) to remove dead skin cells and excess dirt.

Affix your sleeve or liner inside the unit, and securely close the lid. Select a cleaning cycle: the 10-minute fast clean or the 20-minute super cleaning option. Then, just push the start button and let the ROSS work its sanitizing magic. A light will display and a beep will sound when the cycle is completed.

Whether you use an active prosthesis or a passive one, using ROSS is ideal for those with somewhat limited mobility of the hands. Amputees using a prosthetic hand or fingers that have an internal grasping mechanism should have no issues cleaning and using our liner and sleeve cleaning system.

Those with a passive prosthesis can adjust most models to grip things with their sound hand. Even if they are completely immobile, users can allow it to assist with cleaning and inserting liners by stabilizing the device. Either way, limited dexterity won’t impede your ability to use ROSS.

If any issues arise with the turning of the lid, the lid can be placed on the opening of ROSS without turning. This will still result in effective sanitizing and product safety. Engineering that works for you!

Ozone is present in nature, and its oxidizing properties make ROSS a truly innovative, environmentally friendly liner cleaner. Ozone is Mother Nature’s powerful disinfecting agent with the ability to eradicate large quantities of potentially harmful contaminants that can result in infections and skin irritation.

What is ozone? It is a natural gas that’s generated by ultraviolet light, dry air, oxygen or an electrical current similar to that of lightning. Ozone forms when exposed oxygen molecules divide and connect to another molecule of oxygen to form trioxide, also known as ozone or “activated oxygen.” It has been proven safe for users through rigorous and extensive laboratory testing by our team and medical experts.

Ozone’s strong antibacterial properties allow it to effectively remove the majority of viruses, fungi and bacteria in amputee liners and sleeves. Unlike harsh chemicals like isopropyl alcohol, ozone that is unused reverts back to oxygen and leaves no residuals behind. The only things that remain after cleaning are a fresh scent and a sanitized liner.

Users are not overwhelmed with any remaining ozone after cleaning, as ROSS creates the least amount of it required to perform its intended function: a premier, effective and thorough cleaning. The ROSS is air-tight, so no ozone will leak out during the cleaning process. So, where does the ozone go?

Ozone is an inherently unstable molecule, that is heavier than air and has a 20-minute half-life. After sanitizing cycles, the majority of the ozone sinks to the bottom of the unit and dissipates. Therefore, there is never any need to worry about polluting the air around you or the environment.
