In cooperation with leading O&Ps and contributing amputees, TriOx Innovations designed and developed the world’s first automated rapid ozone sleeve sanitizer (ROSS). The ozone generated by ROSS eliminates germs and odor causing bacteria that soap and water alone cannot, leaving prosthetic liners smelling fresh, sanitized, and ready to wear in as little as 10 minutes. Independent laboratory tested, the device rapidly eliminates 99.9% S. aureus bacteria, the leading cause of skin and soft tissue infections such as abscesses, furuncles, and cellulitis.
The ROSS sanitization process is compatible with all liner types, makes and sizes. As a clinical grade device for home use, ROSS is convenient and easy to operate at the point of care or at home while one sleeps, eats or watches TV.

HOW DOES OZONE WORK AND IS IT SAFE
What is Ozone and how does it work?
What is Ozone: Ozone is an unstable natural gas a pleasant scent that fills the air after a thunderstorm belongs to the ozone produced by lightning. Its molecules are generated by a UV light or electrical discharge through pure oxygen or just dry air. When exposed the oxygen molecule it split into two oxygen atoms then the atom connects to another oxygen molecule and thus ozone is formed. The well-known smell doesn’t last long because the gas is unstable and decomposes to pure oxygen soon without any trace. The half-life of the ozone molecule is just 20 minutes but during the lifetime it has an exceptional oxidation potential which makes the gas an important element of modern industry. Ozone in nature is absolutely safe for humans but its oxidizing properties make it the most efficient and the most environmentally friendly disinfectant being nature’s own disinfection agent. Ozone eliminates a large number of harmful contaminants like viruses, bacteria or fungi. It is twice more oxidizing than chlorine but, unlike chlorine and other chemicals, unconsumed ozone revert back to oxygen with no residuals.
Material compatibility.
Ozone is inert when reacting with urethane, silicone and thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), making it the ideal candidate to sanitize prosthetic liners. Sometimes discoloration may occur, but it does not affect the integrity of the liner material.
Product safety.
- ROSS creates the minimum amount of ozone to be effective in killing bacteria.
- The device has an air-tight design, ensuring that no ozone leaks out.
- Ozone is heavier than air and it’s half-life is very short due to it’s instability. At the end of each cycle, the left-over ozone sinks to the bottom where it dissipates.
- We have made sure that our product is very safe to use. Contact us if you would like to enquire about our product safety specifications and certifications.
Ozone Technology is the Future in Prosthetic Sleeve Cleaning
Ozone generators are rapidly assuming a more vital role in prosthetic cleaning, having proven their ability to work efficiently without leaving any residue or harming the environment. This type of prosthetic hygiene product has become popular in the medical field due to lower ozone concentrations and high efficacy in removing harmful pathogens. It also requires no refills and leaves no residue behind.

ROSS’ Benefits for Orthotists, Prosthetists and Their Team
Providers who specialize in or offer prosthetic maintenance care can gain quite a bit by embracing the ozone technology that ROSS uses for sleeve and liner cleaning. This handy device can clean any size and type of liner to accommodate patients. Affordability, ease of use and effectiveness make this unit desirable. Plus, being able to offer patients access to the world’s first automated prosthetic sleeve cleaner is a great selling point.
Here are a few more perks to using ROSS in clinical settings:
Clinicians & Patients Enjoy Better Hygiene
With an increased level of safety and effective microbial reduction using ROSS, patients will feel more confident and comfortable. Providers find this unit to be a convenient and simple solution for their busy clinics, welcoming it to their supply of amputee essentials.
Added Service For Your Clinic During Consultation
ROSS is silent and works in 10- or 20-minute cycles. During consultation, put your client’s liner or sleeve in ROSS as an added service. The liner will smell and feel refreshed and can lead to conversations on hygiene issues. ROSS is an ideal consultation room appliance.
Reduce Infection & Odor With ROSS
Skin is the largest organ of the body, and the dermis is a primary protection against bacteria that cause infection and bad prosthetic odor. People feel more comfortable when they are free of unpleasant body smells. As a natural oxidizer, ozone breaks apart odor-causing molecules and leaves behind a faint fresh scent.
Sanitize Your Fitting Liners
Many O&Ps already keep a ROSS to sanitize the fitting liners between patients.
A Cost-Effective Solution To Promote Amputee Health
While the one-time cost of ROSS is higher than often ineffective and time-consuming soap and water or prosthetic hygiene disinfectants, it’s a wise and generally reimbursable investment. It reduces long-term costs and saves time, plus the ozone-powered unit doesn’t release any chemical residuals. In just 10–20 minutes, clients walk out with a clean sleeve or liner, which is much faster than with traditional prosthetic cleaners.
The Minimal Environmental Impact of Ozone Sanitizers
Having a reliable prosthetic liner cleaner that can eradicate up to 99.9% of harmful bacteria, fungicides and viruses is vital for your patients. As part of an amputee’s essentials, having a Rapid Ozone Sleeve Sanitizer (ROSS) for prosthetic maintenance provides tremendous benefits.
Take cleaning to new levels through the wonders of ozone technology. When used in medical applications, ozone can make wearing the prosthetic device far more sanitized, comfortable and safe. Once it’s completed the cycle, the ROSS liner sanitizer eliminates any ozone and causes no harm to the environment, unlike other devices that use chemical sanitizers and even soap.
